9:50 Typography Pass / Fail

Replicate this background I created at 1920 x 1200 in size, resolution (dpi) staying at 72 as this is a for computer background. Notice the font, all caps, spacing, and second text layer (grey) used to show depth.

When you think you are done, raise your hand and I will check you off.  Move on to the next exercise.

10:05 Morning Design Assignment:  Working with Typography

In this next exercise you are going to work of an advertisement from a local newspaper.  You are going to do your best to replicate the design company’s typography using your type skills in Photoshop.

Focus on:

  • Font Selection
  • Letter Spacing
  • Colors
  • Font Height

The advertisement you will be replicating:

 The file I am giving you to use in Photoshop to start from, save this (the full sized) and open in Photoshop:

When your product looks like production ready (mimics the original design) save your file as “bba.jpg” and “bba.psd” and upload to Week 13.

Making the movement of your tread based object realistic will be key to this animation, the rotation of your rollers in relation to your tread speed, the rotation of your tread to the ground speed, are the most important parts to this assignment.
