12:50 Week 14 Afternoon Design Assignment: Holiday Animation / Card.
Starting this afternoon you are going to act as a freelance animator. You are going to respond to a RFP (Request For Proposal from “CAWD Inc” that is in need of an Holiday Animation to be sent out.
As compared to a traditional high school project, this way of learning about a project and bidding to do the work more closely resembles the Design Industry.
First, the RFP:
Each student needs to read the RFP from the client, CAWD Inc. Once you understand the requirements, you need to create a a proposal. You will type this proposal up and pitch it to me on the other side of the room. Your proposal will need to be approved my myself and will be a stand alone grade.
Your proposal must be written in word / Google docs and include the following:
- Date – date.
- To – who are you proposing this to?
- From – who are you?
- Re – what is this about?
- Background – tell me a little about you if I didn’t know you.
- Proposal – what are you proposing?
- Resources Required – what do you need to make this project a success?
- Deliverables – What will you turn in / give to client and when?
An example Proposal:
When you think your proposal is done, print and bring to me. You will pitch your idea to me, I will approve if acceptable, or send you back to revise if “not there yet”.
Proposal has to be approved by the end of today and will be a stand alone grade in project.
Once I sign off on it, get to work on your approved proposal that fulfills the RFP’s requirements.
