• Doors locked immediately after school today due to a meeting.
• We will NOT be having a dedicated site maintenance session next Monday, as we will start the CAWD 2012 Midterm.  If you want to use Monday morning as normal for site maintenance that is ok…but if you use an hour for that you lose an hour from your exam.  How you manage and prioritize your time is up to you – part of becoming and adult.  If you have any extra time today use it to finish up this weeks work – the Week 16 “What is due” is already posted.

9:45 Morning Review Premise:  Logo for Anchor Realty

This morning you are going to work as a graphic designer for a logo for new client.

The company you will work for is Anchor Realty. 

Anchor Realty is a company which works on Real Estate sales, rentals, and management, at the beach, such as on Lake Champlain, Florida Beaches, etc.

They want a modern, clean, and fun logo. 

Their are a family business who’s customers are vacationing families, young professionals and business type.

Colors they prefer:

• blue
• white
• yellow
• green (not Vermont forest green, but green of ocean water)
• sandy colors

They want to use this logo on the Web, Print, Billboards & Signs, Mugs, T-shirts.

I realize some students will need more time on the hand drawn portion, some students more time on the digital version.  How much time you spend in each is up to you, just remember that the projects are weighted equally. 

9:50 Morning Hand Drawing Review Exercise:  Logo Brainstorms for Anchor Realty

In your sketching exercise for the morning, you are going to create 6 brainstorm logos for Anchor Realty which hit on the above requirements.

Sign, date, and place on back table by lunch.  I am grading this after lunch today.

11:30 Morning Photoshop Review Exercise:  Digital Logo

In our Photoshop Review Exercise this morning you are going to take your “best” brainstorm and bring it to life ditigaly using the Pen tool.  We need to have something vector based so it can be easily scaled for web, print, t-shirts, etc.  Pen tool and text only. 

Create a new document 8.5 x 11 inches OR 11 x 8.5 inches in size at 300 dpi.  Practice, ask questions, and remember to limit yourself to the pen tool, layer effects, and the text tool.

When complete save your file twice as “anchor.jpg” and “anchor.psd” into Week 16.
