9:40 Attendance
Congrats to CAWD Students that took 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in the CTE Pin Design Competition!
1st – Matt – CAWD2:
2nd – Jackson – CAWD2:
3rd – Laura – CAWD:
All three move on to the state design competition where they will compete for the State title.
All students that competed will get participation certificates which should be kept for your end of the year portfolio – if you can’t keep them organized put them in your drawing cubby – you will get these Monday. They demonstrate that you took part in a design competition, which colleges and employers love to see.
9:45 Morning Web Pass/Fails
To start the morning we are going to work on a series of 3 pass/fail projects in which you are given a broken page and have to find the errors. In industry you often inherit somebody else’s work, or take over a job to improve it, and finding other peoples errors efficiently is a skill to practice.
In our example files is a folder called “morningPassFails”. Inside are 3 exercise folders. Starting with #1, open the html file in Dreamweaver and preview in Firefox.
- Notice the errors/warnings. You first need to clean away any issues in code.
- After you have valid code (a green check mark) then go through and check issues with file/folder names and extensions. The code could be valid but the file name misspelled leading to non-functional code.
As you complete each raise your hand and I will check you off for each. You must have all three checked off before you go to lunch – once finished all 3 you are eligible to go to lunch.
