Flash Animation Week 3 Assignment

Class hours: 9:40am – 2:05pm
Mr. Cronin

From now on all specific information on grading / scheduling / expectations will not appear in each assignment; Assignment #1 will have the specifics and always be available through the archive.

Assignment #3:  Frame By Frame Animation with Scene

This assignment will combine some of our projects leading up until now.  You will first create a scene in Flash – this scene will act as the background.  For example you could create a country house scene, with a old house, porch, barn in the background and fields.

You will then add three animated elements using FBF animation over this.  These animated elements will be subtle and fit in with your background scene.  If sticking with the country house scene as a background I could use:

  1. Flag on the porch gently blowing in the wind.
  2. Windmill in the field spinning.
  3. Dog running up to the steps of the porch and barking and then running back in the house.

Each of these three animations should be looping.

Include a sound somewhere in your animation, using the correct sync.  In my above example I would include a dog barking when she gets to the top of the step.

In the end we will have an animated scene, almost like looking out the window of a car towards a farm scene.  We will have both animation and sound added to the static background.

Deliverable:

Use our object code to place your flash movie in a valid xhtml/css document called “assignment_3.html”.  Use best practice organization and logical naming for your .swf.  Upload everything to an “assignment_3″ folder inside your “flashAnimation” folder.

Due Date:

Tuesday February 14th at 3pm.
