  • Welcome Back to Week 22!  What did you do over vacation that was “different”.
    • I cut flowers for vases in the house.
    • I made a new hiking trail in my woods.
    • I played a lot of Bocce Ball with my family.
  • Doors locked immediately after school as normal for Monday’s.
  • Former student Vlad Suvorov is going to UVM to learn how to become an Art Teacher.  He is going to come teach a mini lesson with me tomorrow morning.  He is a solid human, you will like him.
  • Goodman visitor Wednesday 9:40 to 10:10.

Site Maintenance

  • Remember Weekly Vocabs and Friday Quizzes?  Never again!
  • What we are going to work on is preparation for the “Vermont States Arts Assessment”.  This State Assessment is given by the start of Vermont to Cawd like programs each toward the conclusion of the year.  This is another multiple choice exam, validating if you have worked hard enough to earn the credits for the program.  
  • The Arts Assessment Guide will look 100% like the Certification Guide…as the Certification Gude is a duplicate of the  Arts Assessment.  The workflow is the same.
  • We are going to use this Arts Assessment Guide throughout May (daily) so we can learn (or reinforce) these general “art facts” that the state of Vermont thinks is important.  These Guides are NOT tests, they are learning tools.  Google anything, look content up, etc.

Design Homework 32 | Personal Logo Concept Brainstorms

It is May. We have our Recognition Night next Month.  We have only 1 more college project for the year.  We have no more quizzes, no more vocabs.  We are starting to think about our Final Exam in Cawd which are our Portfolios.  

The first element of your Portfolio is generating logo concept art for your brand.  This Portfolio is going to be a representation of your “Best Work” in Cawd-like work product.

On the next page of your sketchbook, I want you to create 10 logos for your Portfolio which speak visually to your Brand.  They can be 100% visual, they can be 100% type, they can be a combination.  Try new designs, play with fonts, imagery, etc.

Assume the final digital product will be vector art, and not have any photographic elements.

Sign and date, due 1 week from today.

12:45 Monday / Wednesday Web Design and Development Project:  Rock Paper Scissors

As we read about before Vacation, at Brown University there is a coding class where one of their assignments is to program a rock / paper / scissors game.   As Brown is an ivy league school, I thought that Cawd could mimic their work.

Do we know how to play rock / paper / scissors?

We are going to continue to develop this game up Monday / Wednesdays this week.

First, we get the functionality, then we can style it.
