Notes

  • CAWD/CTE Open House is going to be at 6pm next Thursday September 22nd starting at 6pm in the cafeteria.  There will be a short presentation by CTE, and then we will break into specific classes.  Show your parents the classroom, your work, etc.  I’d like to meet all of your parents this night, if just to say hello and put a name with a face.  Next Thursday September 22nd, 6pm, cafeteria – tell your parents now so they can plan. 
  • College fair bus is leaving from the CTE entrance tomorrow at 9:40.
  • Quiz will be Monday morning first thing, so study over the weekend.
  • If you have less than a C- in CAWD by this coming Monday, you will be staying after on Tuesday.

11:00 Madlib

For the remainder of the morning you will be creating an actual functioning madlib using XHTML and PHP. For this project you will have a XHTML form with 15 text inputs and labels for nouns, verb, adjectives, etc. Then your XHTML form will send the variables to your PHP file, and your PHP file will echo them out in an appropriate location in your story.

Requirements:

  • Short story for the variables to echoed out in. Minimum of 3 paragraphs. You can borrow this from the interwebs.
  • 15 Form Inputs
  • 15 Variables
  • Valid XHTML on both form page and php page
  • Proper Semantic Markup

Helpful List:

  • Noun – Person, place or thing. Eg Mini Cooper
  • Adjective – Descriptive word. Eg Awesome Mini Cooper
  • Verb – Action word. Eg Driving a Mini Cooper.
  • Adverb – Describes how things ar done. End with ‘ly’ most of the time. Quickly driving a Mini Cooper

When complete, upload to your week_02 folder as madlibForm.html and madlibEcho.php.
