  • Tuesday Meetings. Doors locked.
  • REMINDER: Thursday March 30th is Step Up Day. You all will not be here. Instead I will be giving you an at home assignment. This means two things, Thursday is still technically a school day, and you must bring back a very basic form back by Wednesday. This form lets you and your parents know you won’t be here and you have to do some small amount of work. I will let you know your “HW” on Wednesday. Forms?
  • Speaking of step up day. Wednesday 7/8 with be destroying the room and bring it over to CAWD1. At least 10 computers are being moved over, so we need to clean our computers on Wednesday.
  • Game Team presentations and testing will be TODAY 9:45 – 10:45. First round of real presentations, please look below for more info.
  • We will not be having real science till April 10th. Your “Homework” till then is to have your sumo robot ready by then.

9:45 Game Team Presentation

Round 1

Presentations should be roughly 10 minutes. If we hit over that, we know we just need to trim. If it’s under, we know we need to add or reorganize the content. If it’s drastically under, we got some work to do.

Please keep in mind the list below:

  • Planning
  • Concept Art
  • Storyboarding
  • Game Play
  • UI (User Interface)
  • Design (Inspiration, Concepts, 2D vs 3D)
  • Your Code (Show an example, explain)

Those are the technical eliments you should hit. But don’t forget to hit your inspiration to why your built this game. The new mechanics that makes your game different. You are trying to say why your game should win, without saying “I should win because…”.

I will be keeping notes and grading you as if you were actually in the competition. So lets say there would be a winner today. Would that be your team?

The winning team for this round will get to choose the order of next round of presentations. Which will most likely be on Friday.

We have 1 week left. Please communicate with your teammate about what Goals you still have. Make a realistic check list and figure out the plan.

Crunch Time

We are at crunch time. We have presentations and making sure our games are presentable. Please keep in mind this is a pitch. It should look good and have good ideas. Doesn’t need to be call of duty.

UPDATE (March 28th) TODAY we will best testing our games AND doing presentations FIRST THING. 

Here is a list of points to cover in your presentation:

  • Planning

Your presentations should be 10 minutes long. No More and probably no less to get the most of the experience. I’d build bullet points of each of these topics so it doesn’t seem scripted. 

Please use the feedback from your classmates to make strategic decision about your game.
