Notes

  • I have not graded any photography yet, so you most likely will have until this afternoon to upload your photos assignment and summary to week 8.
  • A cool take on the 8 bit project we worked on earlier this week.
  • My new favorite wallpaper.
  • New PHP resources. I added all of our past PHP screenshots so you don’t have to try and remember the day we covered ‘GET’ variables anymore.
  • Photography nerds act out BF3 with cameras.

10:15 Login Script

This morning you will be working on a basic XHTML and PHP page that allows users from this classroom to login and see super secret information. Your XHTML page is just going to be two inputs with labels for username and password, and then a submit button.

The PHP is first going to check if the user filled out their username and password, if not it will ask them to fill them out. Then your PHP is going to check usernames against passwords, and if they match, it will welcome the user by first name. If the username and password don’t match your file is going to ask the user to try again.

Usernames – Passwords:

  • cgingras – mmu
  • jbogue – bowties
  • mbenedict – fedora
  • kcorbosiero – hurhurhur
  • mgiannuzzi – whipster
  • ccampbell – dubstep
  • jthibault – peytonmanning
  • kriley – growl
  • tgriffin – loud
  • lreynolds – ginger
  • ofrench – angrymusic
  • mwarren – triforce

Requirements:

  • Valid XHTML and PHP pages
  • Labels for all inputs
  • Submit button should say login, not submit
  • Check if user fill out form completely
  • Welcome user by first name if correct username and password
  • Ask user to try again if no usernames and passwords match.

When complete, upload to your week_08 folder as login.html and login.php.
