10:15 Week 18 Sketch: Imaginary Place.

This weeks sketching assignment is an imaginary place, something that doesn’t exist, or has existed.  Create your own design of “a place” from your imagination.

Color is required for this assignment.

Due to this being an imaginary place, we don’t want any monitors turned on while you sketch – no reference imagery.  Use your creativity to create your place.  An example from a Deviant Art I found.

You could go with a cute, cartoon style of imagery as the above example, or a darker, example.  Think of a Concept Art Environments; creating imagery of stuff that doesn’t exist.  Not just an object, an entire place.

Sign and date in the corner, and place on the back table.  Put your art supplies back when complete.

Get to work on something CAWD related – blog, work, read, etc.

11:40 Morning Web Assignment:  Favorite Things Web page.

Taking a cue from Composers Rogers and Hammerstein, this morning you will be creating a web page which includes all of the web content we have learned so far this week, creating a page full of your favorite things.  This will get you working with images, folders, and alt tags.

You will pick 5 of your favorite things.  Find an image for each and save to an “images” folder.  Try to get them all “medium” sized, or you will have to re-size in Photoshop.

Start with a large heading at the top of the page that says “Your name’s favorite things”.  This should also be the title of the web page.

For each favorite thing start with a smaller heading with its name.  Following that have the image for that favorite thing.  Lastly have an unordered list with 3 reasons (minimum) why it is one of your favorite things.  Full sentences.

Make sure you have a green check mark before you upload.  Make sure to upload your .html file and the images (in the images folder) that go along with it.  Save your .html file as “myFavorites.html”.

12:50 Afternoon Web Design Exercise:  Thursday Broken.

In today’s example files you will find a file called “thursdayBroken.html”.  You will find that this file does not fully work, errors are apparent, and is lacking a green check mark.  Fix the file so that the three images work, and you have a green check mark.

Save your file as “thursdayFixed.html” and upload this file and your images folder to your Week 18 folder.

1:05 Afternoon Illustrator Exercise:  Continuation of Car.

This afternoon we will continue working on our car assignment.  Check back to the Tuesday dayplan for specifics.

I should be able to let everyone know if this is the last day, or if we will have another day, buy 1:30 this afternoon.

Save your file as “vehicle2.ai” and “vehicle2.png” and upload to Week 18.
