Notes
- Students may stay and work today until 3pm
- There will be a bus leaving Tuesdays after school from now on that goes to BFA, Milton, Colchester and Winnoski – this will run every Tuesday until the end of the year. Students from other schools that want to stay after and work will need to find their own transportation.
- Visitor season will be entering full swing in the next month, we could have visitors at any time, when we have them we will look for volunteers to work with them, which really helps the worker trait component of your grade; acting as a class ambassador.
- Tomorrow afternoon CTE is going to be doing some photography in the room about 1pm. Please let them work efficiently and be quiet while they are in the room.
- Some students have previous web experience and will fly through the first web exercises, to some this will be completely new – if you finish up early, please work on site maintenance q u i e t l y.

11:25 Morning Illustrator Step By Step Exercise: Stewie
Illustrator is a widely used design program with its main strength of Vector graphics. Scalability, going form very small to very large without degradation of quality, is Illustrators greatest strength.
Today we will continue do a step by step in Illustrator to become more comfortable with the line, pen, layer and color tools. Students here in the afternoon will start on a longer term vehicle illustration.
When we are complete our Stewie step make sure to hide the layer that has our reference image on it. Then, save your file twice as “stewie.ai” and “stewie.png” and upload to Week 18.

12:50 B Day Afternoon Illustration Exercise: Vehicle.
Starting this afternoon we will start working on a transportation design exercise in Illustrator. The subject for the project is a car. You will find blueprints of the car, a side view specifically, and create in illustrator.
First, pick the car you want to create. It can be anything you can find a reference image for. Google the type of car you want and “blueprints”, or go to a website such as the-blueprints.com. You must find a side view of the vehicle you will create. Save this image to Week 18 as “myVehicle.jpg” (or whatever format it is: .jpg, .gif, .png).
Once this is complete, bring the image into illustrator, and begin the recreation process. Make sure your reference image is on the lowest layer; use new layers for different parts of the car.
Take your time, we will be doing this for multiple days – go for quality over speed. We have not done this project in class before. Amount of time we get to work on this assignment will directly come from how hard we work and progress we make.
At the end of the day save your progress as “vehicle1.png” and “vehicle1.ai” and upload to Week 18. Each day we work on this we will upload a new version. Each time you save for the day hide the reference image.
Again, we will be doing this on multiple afternoons, please don’t rush.
