Notes

  • Welcome to Monday, and Week 23.
  • There will be no homework club tomorrow after school due to SkillsUSA, CAWD classroom will be locked at 2:05 as I have to go to the competitions after school. Plan accordingly.
  • Students going to skills tomorrow need to be at the back door / hallway (where our pins for Skills voting were hung) by 6:40 tomorrow morning, in full dress, with resumes in hand.  Bring coffee if you need to. You may have some downtime, so bring mp3 players, psp’s, ds’s, anything else to pass the time.
  • Ok, by show of hands:  corner (eww), edge (gross) or middle(mmm) of a brownie – which is best.

12:50 Afternoon Layout Assignment:  SkillsUSA Quiz Bowl Layout

Continuing with this weeks theme of SkillsUSA, we are going to take a look at this National Quiz Bowl website, and recreate focusing on web standards, design, and subject.

First we will deconstruct their web presence.

This afternoon you will be recreating the layout for the SkillsUSA Quiz Bowl.

Requirements:

  1. Use a color scheme that goes along with SkillsUSA – Patriotic colors, but also go for something professional.  Don’t make it look like an American flag of random red, white, and blue content.  The layout should feel patriotic, but professional.
  2. Include all content from “quizBowlCopy.txt” located in today’s example files.  This will include all copy and link requirements.
  3. Include at a minimum the images from the “images” folder in today’s example files.  Any other image must come from Photos.com, email me the photo # and I will download / upload for you and you can use the three images inside the “optional” folder.

Save your file as “quiz.psd” and “quiz.png” and upload to Week 23.
