Today we will be diving into After Effects more by making a cool project to visualize music. I’m sure most of you have seen on youtube something like Trap Nation where a logo and waves go to the sound of a “trap” song. We are going to re-create our own version of this. The project goes over some basics to After Effects that make it an easy and fun intro.
- Creating a Composition
- Project Window
- Timeline (layers, effects, ect.)
- Preview Window & Settings
- Effects, Controls and Presets
- Creating New Objects
- Importing Assets
If you’ve ever used Premiere, which I know you have, a lot of these things should be pretty easy to grasp. Now that we have had a small intro to After Effects from the Kinetic Typography, we should be even more comfortable. It’s just learning when to use Premiere or After Effects for the right reason. Premiere is more of a simple video editing tool. While After Effects is a tool more used to composite videos, creating special effects like ones you would see in movies.
First things first, if all of you could download THESE example files. There should be only three files in this folder. A song, a background image and a logo. After we go through the lesson, you will all be creating your own song with a different background and logo.
