9:45 Thursday / Friday Animation Exercise: Literal Visualization.
Today we will continue working on an animation project where we will visualize a text animation by using the action of the word itself.
For example the word “Bounce” would bounce.
The world “Slide” would slide.
The word “Splat” would splat.
Animate each word in a separate Maya file.
Render out. One camera? Two cameras (as in my example above?)
Put together in Premiere. Both animations show up in the same .mp4.
Call your file “literalVisualizationCronin.mp4” and place in your “week_5” folder.

11:30 Friday Morning Illustration Assignments
This morning you are complete illustration projects.
Take a look at your Burlington Flag Redesign concept art and choose the best design.
Starting with a new document 8.5inches tall and 11 inches wide, create your design digitally using Illustrator.
Save your file as “btvFlagCronin.jpg” into your Week 5 folder.
Part 2 | Pokemon
Ok, Part 1 was something that could go in your Portfolio as client work, shows the design process, and could win you some cash prizes. Part 2 is all about practice and fun.
Create a new document 8.5 x 11, or 11 x 8.5 (portrait vs landscape).
Pick a Pokemon to illustrate. Just like our Animated words, I don’t want to see 26 Pikachu’s, so we are going to have a topic draft. Once a Pokemon has been selected by a class made, it is off the table.

12:45 Tuesday through Friday Afternoon Animation Exercise
Afternoons in Week 5 are going to be spent working on Squash and Stretch, the first of the 12 Principles of Animation we learned about last week.
You are going to create 6 short animations that demonstrate this principle. You will create them in separate Animate Files, export as image sequences, and then put together in Premiere, just as a professional would in industry.
If you are unclear, review the intro we covered Friday:
Specifics in the Tuesday / Wednesday dayplans.
