9:40 Attendance and Article
9:45 START Character Modeling
Starting this morning and following into next week, we will be creating our characters we have drawn and/or creatively thought of from last week. Soren, Bruce and Conor, I ask that you think of a character you’d like to make for our game. Make some sketches before just jumping into making a character. Below are a couple videos that may help you out as you create your character. I personally would recommend video 2 as it goes a bit slower and creates an easier model.
If you do not have a reference of your character, it is totally ok. You can free model it, or you can scan in your image. It’s best to have a side and front angle of your character, but again, it’s ok to not have a reference in maya.
We will start by creating a basic cube or cylinder, from there we will expand out this model to create HALF of our character. We will then “Duplicate Special” so anything we do to one side happens to the other side.
We will not be focusing on textures today. Lets focus on making a clean model with the lowest amount of polygons possible.
When complete, upload a render as mobaCharacter.jpg to your week_7 folder. AGAIN, we will have more time for this next week.

Self-directed time for a topic of choice. It can be anything CAWD related. Go out, find a couple tutorials, maybe some inspiration for a specific piece of art, or learn a new skill altogether. Rough topics below to maybe help you out:
