This Thursday and Friday Cawd participated in Community Service Learning Days at CTE. We worked with Senior Citizens in our region to restore photos to their original condition – or as least best we could.
Not only were we able to practice the technical aspect of restorations, but also project management and working with clients. The Cawd students managed the entire day from greeting our visitors, logging and scanning in the photos, and finally doing the restorations.
Overall a very successful 2 day event that was aimed at saying a “Thank you” to an often forgotten portion of our community. Even before our students had arrived home we heard from Seniors happy with our students work.
“Wonderful! I will have it printed and framed! Excellent! Thank you!” ~ Shirley and George
“Thanks so much for your work. I appreciated very much!” ~ Lucia
“Thank you so much for the four pictures I left with the students to restore. They all look fantastic and I’m so pleased! Please thank your students for me, they did such a great job. I especially enjoyed visiting and viewing the actual work being done on each photo and the explanation by the students on how they were proceeding to restore each of the photos. Great job! ” ~ Joyce
With the final work emailed to our clients, we are already planning Community Service Learning Days 2016. Please let seniors know that we are here and ready to help their Photo Restoration needs next November!
