College Acceptance Season!
Congrats go out the students who are getting into their colleges. We have had a very successful year where students are commonly getting into their first choice schools, and some not even seeing a single rejection letter.
Nice job, keep it up.
In conjunction with EHS, Cawd took part in a Tech Week 2016 outreach event. In a bid to expose more high school students to careers in technology, Cawd hosted 19 EHS students for a 45 minute workshop on the basics of using terrain in Unreal Engine 4 for a driving game. The kids did a great job representing our program.
We also hosted a talk from Pete an Ben from Pinbox 3000. They were able to tell their story about combining cardboard and their design skills to create a career for themselves, the design process, and the path to get where they are now.
Local boys of Vermont, it would be great to support them if you are in need of a Vermont produced, creative gift or personal project. Cawd was given a couple of sets that we are going to build later on this spring. Thank you Pete, Ben, and Caty from Pretech (who I think actually paid for them).
Hope all is well – Skills Competitions soon enough – we are competing in 4 events this year:
- Game Design (a new competition). I mean, most other programs take part in 1 competition, and a bunch in none. We are Cawd, we have the talent, we can do more. Next year we should expand again and take part in….cosmo, or auto, or something. We must win everything.
Be good. Seatbelts.
