Cawd is taking part in the SkillsUSA Game Design Competition this spring for the first time – we are actually trying to get it off the ground as a pilot. It is actually called “Interactive Application and Video Game Design” and is a competition where we don’t create or build anything the day of the competition, but pitch the game created in a team of 2-4. We have 5 total teams in Cawd that are working in Unreal and Unity, from 1st Person, to 3rd person, realistic to stylized, 3D to 8-bit.
We just had Alpha presentations where we looked at buggy, demo versions that showed some levels of functionally. The next deadlines will be fast and furious with a final presentation date of April 8th.
Wish the kids well, the entire experience is stressful and new, but is proving to be a rewarding experience
