This years Second Years just completed their first photography project (2 weeks ago but I’ve been busy, and who’s counting). The goal of this project was for them to work on getting acclimated with the advanced camera settings and the rule of thirds.

Belated photography update.

Since my last photography blog post, the second year cawd students have had 2 assignments. One of these assignments, was to get acclimated to the new SLR’s we got in December.

I’ve been meaning to post to the blog about this, and the photos that the 2nd years took, for about 3 weeks now; I’ve just been really busy watching football and fighting zombies on the 360, so yeah, pretty good excuse.

So now to the first set of pictures that the second year cawd students took.

These photos were taken the weekend of December 8th. The photo assignment was a little more open ended in the fact that they could photograph anything they wanted. The whole goal of this assignment was to get them to take more captures of a certain photo that they wanted to get, so that one of the captures would be perfectly in focus and lit correctly. So the assignment was to take a 150 photos and turn in their 10 favorites. So by this logic, they could have snapped 15 shots of ever photo they wanted to turn in.

This next photo assignment was an extra credit assignment to be completed over the 2 week holiday vacation. This assignment was also a free choice assignment in the fact that the only requirement was 250 photos and to chose the 10 best. Now I know you are all going to say 250 photos is a lot, but if you think about it, it’s just 20 photos a day and it was optional.

I realize there is a photo of myself in there, and you’re probably saying ‘that’s awfully modest of him, picking a picture of himself as one of the best photos’. Well I don’t care what you think, I just like looking at myself. No but seriously, I hate photos of myself, It’s just a really nicely framed photo and I couldn’t not post it. Also, take a look at Edmonds’ ornament photo, if you look closely you will see the nerdiest thing I have seen in a while.

CAWD2 Mouse Animation

The second years are working on a mouse themed animation, here is their animated storyboard:

They are also getting to the point where they have the the characters modeled. Here is a shot of the two stars of the animation, for which Josh made / textured / furred:

Photography Part II

The second years just completed their second photography project. The goal of this project was for them to work on composition with the ‘rule of thirds‘.

Their assignment was to take 10 photos, one representing Huge, Cold, Blue, Red, Yellow, Love and Super. Then one each of the other four photos had to be a B/W, motion and a photo of a person.

The second years started their photography unit this weekend, and these are some of the pictures they took.

Their assignment was to take 10 photos, one representingSilly,Careful,Down,Wet, Contrast and Self.Then one each of the other four photos had to be aB/W, autumn, night and a photo of a person.
