Happy Thanksgiving break everyone!
As we moved closer to the holidays, we used some bribery (of the cookie variety) to build snowflakes for the room. Elizabeth baked chocolate chip and sugar cookies and came in to lead a lesson on how to make snowflakes. The result:
Last week n the class scored high enough as a collective to earn a Game Day. Many diversions were enjoyed including D&D, movies, Smash Brothers, Soccer, Goat Simulator, some fighting game which I dominated, Rocket League (again, domination, both Josh and Mike and Will were more or less crying), some RTS’s, some anime inspired game, DDR (Sven still reigns) etc.
Food was delicious. Big ups to Will for bringing in 3 trays of Buffalo Chicken Dip, and to everyone else to chipped in (Colton’s dip, Lila’s cookies, Isaiah’s Drink and Chips, etc). Special shout out to Brian who brought drink and food for the Cawd game day … and he isn’t even in Cawd.
We also setup our VR system (HTC Vive) so that everyone could try it out. We are going to be using it for VR Video Game Design in Cawd2. Some alumni from back in the day showed up to visit from Dealer.com: Markus, Eric, and Kyle. They were absolutely terrible at Smash Brothers, really … really bad. Garrett from Champlain College was playing them and won literally every game. We also had other alumni visit including Max, Emma, Leo, and Tim.
Here was Kyle getting his first experience with the Vive, Markus in the background.
We spent most of the time playing with the VR specific painting and art program, Tilt Brush.
All in all a good day leading into a well deserved break. Enjoy the turkey everyone, don’t forget your Design Homework.
